Here’s how to do it. 

1. Find a Real Estate Agent

The first step in selling property is finding the right person to guide you through the process. A real estate agent with a good reputation and track record is often key to getting a house off the market as quickly as possible. 

Ask around for suggestions of who to work with. Then, meet with all your potential agents to see who you gel with the best. That way, you have someone you can trust — and someone who can deliver on what you need. 

2. Choose a Good Selling Price

If you’re thinking, “I want to sell my house fast,” the most important factor of all is to choose a competitive sale price. Your real estate agent can help you with this.

You’ll need to compare similar properties to yours and see how quickly they sold and at what prices. Then, you can get a better idea of your property’s value and what price will get it off of the market ASAP. 

3. Consider Having an Inspection Early

Potential buyers will want your property to have an inspection before they sign on the dotted line. So, doing this now can get your house sold even faster — it will give people peace of mind before putting in an offer.

Your pre-sale inspection doesn’t have to be exhaustive. Instead, have your inspector mark off the big-ticket items, such as the HVAC system, roof, plumbing and electrical grid. 

4. Stage Your House

You can sell a house by selling a vision of what it could be. Potential buyers will have an easier time envisioning themselves in your property if it has a more neutral design scheme. So, take some time to de-personalize your property before putting it on the market. 

Staging can be as simple as removing family photographs, knickknacks and clutter. Or, you can take it a step further by painting colorful walls a neutral hue, swapping out patterned throw pillows for simpler ones and add more lamps and lighting to really brighten up the place.
