Review
Click here to read Mac Verstandig's archived review of this action comedy masterpiece. I loved this movie. I'm just sorry that I didn't go see it on the big screen.
The Disc
WOW! I almost want to say that someone has finally achieved the quality of the "Fight Club" DVD but I can't. This DVD is only a hair behind that other DVD. Outstanding movie. Great extras. Tons of great extras. This is a keeper!
Picture Quality:10/10
This movie is full of so many visually exciting scenes. All of them are there for your enjoyment. The film to digital transfer is excellent. I didn't see it on the big screen so I can't say if it lost anything in the transfer, but I can't imagine what it may have lost. Great picture.
Sound Quality:10/10
The sound is so good that you can almost understand Brad Pitt's 'pikey' lingo without the special commentary track!
Menu:10/10
Loud, fun and abrasive. Easy to navigate.
Extra Features:10/10
Outstanding. 10 seems almost to low a rating. The 'Pikey' commentary track is a work of pure inspiration. I just love it when the money men take the extra step to make the movie going experience just that more enjoyable.
The interview with Guy Ritchie is also hilarious. I enjoyed his commentary track concerning the deleted scenes also. The "Stealing Stones" feature is also cool. It allows you to see the movie with the deleted scenes in place.
The Final Word:
Pulp Fiction meets Get Shorty meets The Hot Rock! Such a comparison actually degrades the movie. Guy Ritchie has created an original work that stands next to or above each of those films. Columbia went all out on this DVD. When the fans are taken into consideration by the money men, we should respond positively. Buy this DVD. There are plenty of pieces of crap being turned out on DVD. Here is one that appears to be a work of love for the fans.
