Review
Another adventure on the Island of Sodor where Thomas the Train and friends keep life moving. This DVD isn't to any one of Thomas's friends. There are 6 stories on this DVD. The stories deal with taking one's responsibilities seriously. The stories also deal with how it feels to pick on someone. In teaches an important lesson about respecting the feelings of others.

As in other Thomas the Train titles, the animation is simple in design, but the sets are very elaborate. Adults may find this entry in the series more enjoyable because of the narrator. As in all Thomas episodes, all parts are spoken by a single narrator. Alec Baldwin narrates each of these stories. The DVD may be slow for adults, but this is a DVD you watch with a pre-schooler for their benefit. Wholesome entertainment for little ones.

The Disc
Not as good as some of the other "Thomas" titles I've seen, but still worth while. Good picture and sound. So-so extras.

Picture Quality: 8/10
Bright colors. Excellent details. No artifacts noticed. Some shimmering. No delineation problems.

Sound Quality: 8/10
The Thomas DVDs have a low-key soundtrack. The sound doesn't overwhelm little ears. Rich sound. Soothing sound also. Alec Baldwin's narration is rich and deep without being threatening to the pre-school audience the DVD is aimed at.

Menu: 6/10
Lame compared to some of the other menus I've seen. Easy to navigate.

Extra Features: 6/10
The extras are hit and miss. There is one sing along song. The read along story is good. You can read it with or without narration.

There are several games. The spelling game is good for toddlers just learning their sounds. There is also a puzzle game which helps the little ones recognize different shapes (circle, square, triangle, etc).

The Final Word:
Thomas fans will like this. Though the DVD doesn't have as much as some previous DVDs, I was impressed by the lessons taught on this one.
