The Disc
Great movie, great picture and sound. Good extra commentary track. Great price.

Picture Quality: 10/10
I didn't find anything bad to say about the picture. Red, White and Blue never seemed so vivid as when I watched the opening scene of this classic. Excellent night time photography during the "Battle of the Bulge" sequence.

Sound Quality: 10/10
The North African tank battle was great in 5.1. Sit back and listen to the shells flying over your head!

Menu: 10/10
Nice use of images from the film. Easy to navigate.

Extra Features: 5/10
As a history buff, I really liked the historical audio track. While it doesn't always track the events of the film, it is informative. FOX put out a more expensive version with a whole bunch of extras. For fans interested in just having the movie, this extra commentary track will be enough.

The Final Word:
"Patton" should be a permanent part of your DVD library. With this new one disk edition, you can't say the cost is prohibitive.
